Little Sis and I have been going to our local Creation Station for a couple of weeks. She loves to craft and has been enjoying trying something new each week. This week she was experimenting with air drying clay and ended up making a lovely tea light holder which is perfect for celebrating divali.
How to make a Divali lamp made with air drying clay
First Little Sis was given a lump of air drying clay to play with. She was happy rolling it in her hands and adding a little bit of water to make it wet and malleable.
There were lots of different rolling pins so she could experiment with different textures. She enjoyed getting messy, especially as glitter was added to her clay!
When the clay was easy to handle she started moulding it into a little dish, large enough to hold an LED tea light.
Then it was time to decorate. She found a selection of buttons an plastic shapes and carefully pressed them into the clay lamp holder.
We carefully took our little clay lamp holder home with us and left it to dry overnight. It’s the perfect size for holding a little LED tea light and great for learning about Divali next month.
