Halloween might be over for another year but we are eagerly looking forward to Bonfire Night on Thursday. We’ll be attending our local firework display (weather permitting!)
There are some really colourful crafts around to celebrate fireworks and the failure of Guy Fawkes. Last year we made edible sparklers which I can thoroughly recommend!
This year we made constellation lacing cards for Firework Night using a really fun Galaxy-X Duck Tape which is totally out of this world.
Equipment needed to make constellation lacing cards
Roll of Galaxy-X Duck Tape
A4 card
center punch
laces
How to make constellation lacing cards
I found a couple of constellations online and printed them on blank sheets of paper
I covered two sheets of A4 card in the Galaxy-X Duck Tape on both sides then cut them in half to make A5 sheets and transferred the constellation pattern on to each one using a center punch.
I left the constellation lacing cards and laces out for my 4 year old and he loved them. We looked at the pictures of the constellations and talked about stars and how joining them up makes pictures. He copied the constellations then made up his own! This is a fun activity which my 2 year old enjoyed too.
Lacing promotes hand-eye co-ordination, fine motor, cognitive and visual perception skills and is also a really fun activity!
