Last weekend we were lucky to receive an invitation to ZSL London. Who doesn’t love a trip to the zoo? Even better, not only did we have the chance to see some of our favourite animals, we were also lucky to celebrate the launch of the second season of Vampirina on Disney Junior and have a sneak preview of some of the new episodes!
Celebrating Vampirina on Disney Junior at ZSL London
I love ZSL London as much as the kids and we were definitely overdue a visit there. We got there before it opened and parked outside on the road. As the doors opened we made our way to the lovely Mappin Pavilion for a delicious breakfast with drinks served in Vampirina cups for the kiddies and colouring sheets to keep them busy, whilst we were able to see some of the amazing new toys which accompany season 2 on Disney Junior. You can see our review of some Vampirina toys here.
My 6 year old loves Vampirina but just in case you haven’t yet heard all about it, it’s a super cute cartoon all about Vampirina “Vee” Hauntley. She becomes the new kid on the block after she and her family move from Transylvania to Pennsylvania to open a local bed and breakfast called the Scare B&B for visiting ghouls and goblins. It’s a fun show with a great underlying message which celebrates friendship and difference.
We loved watching the new episodes and cant wait to watch more when they air on Disney Junior later this month! After the screening some of the ZSL London Zookeepers came to talk to us about the bats they look after. We all learned lots of facts about bats! Then they took us to go and see the Rodrigues Fruit Bats, the kids loved seeing them flying around and munching on watermelon.
Then we had some free time to explore the Zoo. We’ve been to the Zoo quite a few times so headed for our favourite animals first – the sloths and the otters. We stopped for our picnic lunch before exploring more of the animals, including Tiger Territory which was new since our last visit.
We had a great day and it was a lovely way to finish off the Summer holidays. Look out for new episodes of Vampirina on Disney Junior at the end of September.
