With this lovely warm weather we are out and about a lot more. Being outside is good for the whole family and helps the kids to run off some of their endless energy. We’ve been decorating and hiding rocks for a while now and wanted to make some summer painted rocks. We used: Bag of smooth pebbles or rocks Selection of chalk pens Varnish to seal the painted rocks (we use Wilko Gloss Yacht Varnish) How to make painted bee and ladybird rocks: We always wash and dry our rocks before painting them, this makes sure there’s no dirt left…

We love painting and decorating rocks to hide where we live. It’s a really popular hobby where we live and we have a lovely, active Facebook group where we can share pics. My children love to decorate rocks too and it’s something we’ve been enjoying together after home schooling (which isn’t going brilliantly). Craft has always helped us escape and we are doing more than ever at the moment. Over the last few weeks we’ve created a fun window display with rainbows and Thank You’s to our lovely key workers. It’s become a bit of a talking point and I…

This year we have been having lots of fun with our Elf on the Shelf. My children still believe in their magic and we love finding something for them to do each day. So far this festive season the elves have been cutting snowflakes out of toilet roll, helping my daughter with her epic jigsaw puzzle, leaving notes in the children’s lunch boxes and setting up a rock painting station. We love making painted rocks so thought this was a great opportunity to create some new festive elf painted rocks. We used: Bag of smooth pebbles or rocks Selection of…

We spent our honeymoon exploring Scandinavia. We loved Denmark, Sweden and Norway and hope we can go back one day. As well as lots of happy memories we came back with quite a few souvenirs from the different cities we visited, many of which were scandinavian gnomes, also known as tomtes or nisse. A tomte is a mythological creature from Scandinavian folklore, typically associated with the winter solstice and the Christmas season. As our honeymoon took place in late October it probably wasn’t surprising that the shops were full of these little creatures! We’ve faithfully put them out each year…

My obsession with Tunnock’s Caramel Wafers started years ago when I first went to the University of St Andrews. I spent the best 5 years of my life there, especially when I discovered there was a student society dedicated to Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer. I quickly discovered the joy of Tunnock’s Tea Cakes and the other delicious products made at the Tunnock’s factory. Over the years I have been inspired by Tunnock’s and thought it was time I made some Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer pained rocks the easy way. I thought it was time I posted an update on the painted rocks we’ve decorated and hidden recently. The two week Easter holidays gave us plenty of time to decorate rocks, and we were lucky to find a few too. It’s one of our favourite crafts because we always have the supplies close to hand. All you need to decorate rocks are some good quality pens and varnish to seal your design. Easy painted rocks for kids to make The Lego Movie 2 painted rocks My children both loved The Lego Movie 2. I think everyone knows how much we love making and hiding painted rocks. We are part of a lovely ‘rocking’ community and always find as many painted rocks as we hide. We usually take a few away with us wherever we go and love finding them too. It’s been a while since we shared any of our painted rocks here, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy behind the scenes making them. today I want to share a fun Easter craft for kids – painted rock Easter eggs. Painted rock Easter eggs We’ve experimented with all kinds of materials…
