    Bumblebee keyring kit {love embroidery]

    Today I wanted to share another cute cover gift I recently made. I love these little kits, this just took an hour which gave me the little crafting kick I needed. Bumblebee keyring kit from love embroidery magazine The Bumblebee keyring kit came with my Love Embroidery magazine subscription. It included a mini wooden scallop frame, 4 shades of thread (blue, light blue, brown and yellow), 100% cotton fabric, a keychain and ring. The Bumblebee keyring kit was designed by Matilda Smith for love embroidery magazine (issue 41, 2023). With the kit you got the chance to learn 3 simple…

    Spring pennant kit {love embroidery}

    With some decent Spring sunshine  finally here I decided it was time to bring out the Spring stitching projects. Take a look at what I made. Spring pennant kit from love embroidery magazine This is another of those projects which has been sitting around for a while (as you can tell from the old table cloth backdrop I photographed this kit on). I love a little pennant and knew this would be a fun cover gift to stitch and hang on my desk. The Spring pennant kit was designed by Jessie Newton of The Wild Doe for love embroidery magazine,…

    Gingerbread house hoop kit

    I thought I would spend January completing projects. I don’t like have drawers full of half finished projects, and I have many drawers full of many projects which I have started and not finished. Not only is this a waste of money but I just hate not finishing projects. If they are that bad I tend to take out the fabric and embroidery threads and throw everything else away. Gingerbread house hoop kit This gingerbread house hoop kit is from love embroidery magazine, designed by Georgie Emery I was so excited when I saw this was a free cover gift.…

    Cosy Cabin Hoop Kit {first make of 2025!]

    My first make of 2025 is a sweet little hoop, a cover gift with Love Embroidery magazine. Designed my Matilda Smith I have a feeling this has been sitting around for a while now, I started but didn’t finish. Cosy Cabin Hoop Kit The hoop kit contained the plastic hoop, pre-printed fabric featuring a winter scene, and threads. This was a nice, easy project with only 4 types of stitches. I’m not sure why I started but didn’t finish this hoop. Looking back it was probably all those small stitches on the cabin which took forever! When I picked it…

    Dandelion embroidery

    It’s been a while since I picked up a stitching project. I have a few things on the go, but nothing really grabbing my attention at the moment. Dandelion embroidery I’ve had a subscription to Love Embroidery magazine for a few years now. It’s not as good as Mollie Makes magazine, which was my favourite, but it’s still pretty good and inspiring. There have been a few good cover gifts but I haven’t made any of them! I have good intentions but never manage to finish one. One of the latest issues came with a Quick-Stitch dandelion card kit and…

    April crafting

    Last month was quite slow for me. As the days have been longer, and the weather warmer, we’ve been out more so there has been less time to craft. There was also a 2 week Easter break where we enjoyed a few days exploring the beautiful city of York. Each month I write about the things I have been making. In April I bought a Coronation hoop kit to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III this weekend. Although there were two colourways I opted for the red embroidery thread so this is my first piece of redwork. I think…

    January crafting

    I’m so happy that January is nearly over. It’s such a long month and I am looking forward to getting paid and embracing February next week! January has felt like a long month, although when I look back I have been quite crafty and made some fun things. I was lucky to receive the 2022 Winter Craftpod subscription box for Christmas from my other half. This is my favourite quarterly subscription box and is always a joy to open. It was just what I needed and I’ve loved making the two craft kits which were inside. 2022 Winter Craftpod There…

    Platinum Jubilee hoop embroidery

    Platinum Jubilee hoop embroidery from my Cotton Clara Hoop Club Box 21. The subscription box contained two hoops projects, an embroidery sampler featuring hearts, and the Platinum Jubilee hoop embroidery. I really liked the Platinum Jubilee hoop. I was pretty restrained with the amount of money I spent on Jubilee memorabilia and ended up with a lovely souvenir tin from M&S and a limited edition tin of Tate & Lyle’s Golden Syrup which I couldn’t resist. After the contents are consumed I can re-use both to store sewing notions and pens, so nothing will be wasted. We had a lot…

    Spring stitching with the Spring Craftpod 2022 box

    Spring is my favourite season, along with Autumn. I love watching my garden come to life after the winter months and this year I have reaped the rewards of all the planting I did last year. Spring stitching with the Spring Craftpod 2022 box My garden is full of wild violets which I can never bear to pull up. I’m glad I didn’t as one of the projects in my latest subscription box was a sweet embroidered glasses case featuring violets. I do love my crafty subscription boxes and the Spring Craftpod box was full of treats. I especially loved…
