We have crafted a lot this October. Halloween is so much fun and there is something lovely about sitting around the table after school to craft together. Our most recent craft was decorating a papier mache pumpkin. As much as we love to carve a real pumpkin, our fingerprint painted pumpkin for kids is a lot less messy! Fingerprint painted pumpkin for kids We already had the papier mache pumpkin, I think it came from Hobbycraft. We gave it a quick coat of white paint to provide a plain background for the fingerprints. Then we found orange paint, as well…

On March 2rd Dr. Seuss Day is celebrated. You may not have heard of this day before but it’s celebrated every year, on the anniversary of the birth of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known by his pen name – Dr Seuss! Across the world there is a full twenty-four hours to make a mess with the Cat in the Hat, dance around with the Fox in Sox, hear a Who with Horton, count the red and blue fish, help the Grinch see the error of his ways, and listen to Sam I Am’s friend complain about his dish of green…

We love making story stones and decorating rocks. We have built up quite a stash so have been taking a few out with us every day and hiding them around the neighbourhood. It’s been so lovely to see friends finding them and posting them on our local painted rocks Facebook page. It definitely encourages us to make more. We recently told you about the theme for the 2018 Roald Dahl Day celebrations – James and the Giant Peach. A few years ago my son and I worked our way through all of Roald Dahl’s stories. When I mentioned James and…

We can’t be the only family who is a lot happier now the weather has cooled down. We don’t enjoy the very hot weather and hated being restricted to being indoors in the hottest parts of the day. Thankfully we had lots of arts and crafts to keep the children busy. They both enjoy crafting with Aquabeads, small coloured beads which stick together with water. Aquabeads Disney Princess Character Set We were sent the Aquabeads Disney Princess Character Set to play with at home.
