Sewing Star Wars felt toys

Sewing Star Wars felt toys

Posted on February 23, 2017February 24, 2017 by jenny

It feels like an age since I stitched something. Clothes alterations just don’t count although it does feel like I’m constantly stitching badges on my son’s Beaver uniform!

Our whole family love Star Wars so when I spotted a Star Wars felt kit in the shops I knew it would make a great Christmas present for myself my husband. He cannot sew to save his life so I had the happy job of making them up for him. My children were equally delighted to see the set and immediately started dictating which ones I should make first.

Of course Carrie Fisher died a few days after Christmas so we all agreed that Princess Leia was put together first in tribute to her. The Star Wars kit contained templates and felt sheets so it didn’t take long to find the right templates and cut out the felt. The instructions were pretty good and told me which bits of stitch first and how to embroider the face.

I think Princess Leia has to be the easiest and she was quickly followed by Hans Solo and a cute little wookiee. The kit contains 10 patterns which range from easy to difficult. I can’t wait to make more. Even better I spotted a Marvel Universe Felt kit is coming out soon by the same author, Aimee Ray!
