This time of year is the perfect time to start thinking about Spring cleaning the house. The hours of daylight are noticeably longer, the days are warmer and I feel hopeful that Winter is over for another year. It’s also the perfect time to be thinking about deep cleaning your house, getting the Winter duvet dry cleaned and perhaps even washing the curtains. I love airing the house and have been taking every opportunity to open the windows and let the fresh air in, when the weather permits.
Spring cleaning with the Laundryheap app
Last week some friends came over for lunch, and brought their washing with them! Can you imagine what it’s like as a parent for your washing machine to break down? We’ve had our washing machine for 10 years, which I think is pretty good going. I don’t even want to think about *not* having one. With two messy kids, and a pretty messy husband, the washing basket is always overflowing. I was so happy to loan our washing machine to our friends for the afternoon, but it got me thinking about the alternatives.
When I was a student I remember dropping off my laundry to our local laundry and collecting it an hour later. Sunday morning was my washing day and I used to visit my favourite bar and read the Sunday papers whilst I was waiting. Fast forward to now and we all live such busy lives that I couldn’t really contemplate having the time to go and drop laundry off and pick it up.
Thankfully I’ve heard of Laundryheap, an on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning service. They collect and deliver within 24 hours to homes, offices or hotels. What’s more there’s a free app! Which means you can book online, on their website or mobile app. This is perfect for us digital mums or anyone who is strapped for time but loves their smartphone and how it makes life easier. I know not everyone has the luxury of a washing machine and tumble drier so it’s great that there are alternatives.
Have you ever tried a service like this? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
