A few months ago the teens announced that they wanted to see more musicals. This surprised me as I’ve made many trips to the theatre, none with the teens. Perhaps they realised they’ve been missing out when I hop on the tube into London for a couple of hours. When there is so much on offer, in London what do you take them to first? I decided that SIX the Musical would be a great choice to take the teens to.
SIX The Musical with teens
Cambridge students Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss wrote SIX in the summer of 2017 and it received its world debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival performed by the Cambridge University Musical Theatre Society. since then it has gone from strength to strength, staged around the world and translated into many languages.
Prepare to lose your head and experience the Tudor Wives’ lives as they turn back the clock and take to the stage to reclaim their crowns and retell their stories of love, loss and the infamous ex they all have in common.
Join Aragon, Boleyn, Seymour, Cleves, Howard and Parr, backed by their fierce on-stage band, the Ladies in Waiting, and Get Down to a royal retelling of the sassiest story in British Her-story.
SIX the Musical is currently at the Vaudeville Theatre in London. I first saw the show back in July 2022 and absolutely loved it.
The show lasts 80 minutes without an interval
It is recommended for ages 10 and up as it contains some adult themes such as miscarriage and personal trauma
