Over the weekend we finally made it into London to visit the Penguin Parade Sculpture Trail at Fleet Street Quarter. The sculptures have been situated around Fleet Street Quarter for the last 8 weeks, so we managed to catch them on the last few days!
Penguin Parade Sculpture Trail at Fleet Street Quarter London
Fleet Street Quarter is a lovely corner of London that we don’t visit very often. It was lovely and quiet and easy to walk between the 12 sculptures, each lovely penguin painted by a different artist. The free art trail supports the work of the WWF, running from the 14th November to the 5th January.
Each penguin, decked out in unique festive finery designed by talented artists, is perched in iconic spots like Chancery Lane, New Street Square, Ludgate Circus and Fleet Street, adding a splash of Antarctic charm to the City.
An illustrated map created by author, illustrator and stand-up comedian Olaf Falafel is available, as well as a free audio tour, which guides you through each location while revealing facts about the sculpture designs, penguins and the World Wildlife Fund along the way.
They were easy to find and we enjoyed looking at each one and discovering a different part of London.
It’s been a while since we last enjoyed a sculpture trail over the Christmas holidays and it was really lovely to be outside (despite the winter rain!). We were able to take our dog too so we all got some exercise.
