Yellow coats and a Photowalk around Notting Hill {Blogtacular Part I}

Life has been busy lately which is why it’s taken me a while to get my thoughts written down about Blogtacular. Blogtacular describes itself as “the place for bloggers whose hearts beat with creativity to come together to meet, share and inspire.” I’m not sure that really sounds like me but I went in 2015 and had a great time. Last year I went on the Photowalk with Xanthe Berkeley, enjoyed the talks at the conference and took home an amazing goody bag. When tickets came up for sale this year I bought another one, even though I don’t really feel comfortable at big events like this.

I obviously had huge FOMO! When I heard I had a place on one of the Photowalks I booked myself a room at Hub Spitalfields to make sure I actually went to the conference. So with a well stocked fridge, prominently placed meal plans and my husband looking after the kids, off I went to the West End for 24 hours.

I wore my favourite Seasalt yellow raincoat and instantly felt at home when I spotted a few other people in brightly coloured raincoats all milling around our meeting spot in Notting Hill. Soon we were off, walking the pretty back streets of Notting Hill, snapping away and chatting like we’d all be friends for years. I was with a great group of people and I enjoyed the Photowalk more than last year.

I love taking photos but this wasn’t the kind of event where you got much guidance. Instead we just walked and talked, stopping to look at colourful houses, flower shops or street art. There were lots of photo opportunities.

I hadn’t been to Notting Hill for a good few years and I had forgotten how pretty it was. I’d like to go back with my family as we found some great places for photos. It was a great start to my creative weekend and a good way to meet some people before the conference started. After 2 hours I was more than happy to put my camera away and go to the pub to carry on the conversation.

Look out for Part II soon where I’m going to share the fun of the Paper Party at West Elm.

Big thanks to Mollie Makes for the use of the official Blogtacular 2016 Photowalk Images.
