I love crafting with Liberty fabrics. I have a lovely collection for crafting with and the patterns and colours always seem to compliment each other. I picked up some mache eggs from Hobbycraft and thought they would be fun to decorate with this Easter. Our Easter decorations are usually quite simple. Each year I try to make a few new decorations, this year I’ve added Liberty Easter Eggs to our decorations! My daughter loves experimenting with Skittles but this time it was my son’s turn to set up a little science experiment with the classic Skittles experiment, and adapting it for Earth Day. We thought it would work well for Earth Day so designed this Earth Day STEM Skittles experiment for kids, perfect for a little STEM exploration at home. Earth Day STEM skittles experiment for kids With Earth Day coming up later this month we thought it would be fun to make an earth out of Skittles to demonstrate our support for environmental protection. Last summer we discovered our first board game cafe, a fun mixture of a cafe where you can choose from hundreds of board games to play. Our first visit was to the Snacks and Ladders Board Game Cafe on the Isle of Wight and we’ve been on the look out for something nearer to us ever since. Thankfully we discovered the d20 Watford Board Game Cafe and visited for our sons’ birthday. d20 Watford Board Game Cafe The d20 Watford Board Game Cafe is on Queen’s Road in Watford. Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Monday Happy Things {Week 390} My daughter was so happy to reach the next level with her karate lessons. It’s been three years since her last grading, thanks to covid. It was really lovely to see her be awarded her new belt, definitely a…

I’ve already shared some ideas for crafts for toddlers to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee later this year so I thought I would follow that with a post full of ideas for kids to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. I popped to the shops this morning and my local craft store had a display of craft materials for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. As you can imagine, everything was red, white and blue, but sadly there was not a single craft idea! Hopefully some of these ideas will inspire you if you’re looking for fun crafts for kids to celebrate The…

I’m not sure how we will celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this year. We want to do something but we’re not sure what. Hopefully our village or street will be doing something special to celebrate. Even if we are only celebrating at home we will need special Platinum Jubilee treats and we tried out an idea for special Platinum Jubilee gingerbread crowns. We love baking gingerbread and these special iced crowns would make a delicious treats for kids and adults at any afternoon tea. I love all things Bridgerton. I admit that the first episode of Season 1 was a slow burner for me, but I quickly fell in love with the characters, costumes and sets. Since Season 1 finished I read all the Bridgerton novels by Julia Quinn and I’m excited to see what happens in Season 2. When I saw a Bridgerton inspired embroidery hoop class run by Hobbycraft I signed myself up. I find in person classes really hard to get to now I work full-time, so an online evening class sounded good to me. Bridgerton inspired embroidery hoop A few…

Monday Happy Things {Week 389} Last week I celebrated my birthday with a Chinese takeaway and watching the final episode of Inventing Anna on Netflix. I received lots of books and craft kits which should keep me busy for the rest of the year!…
