I have a small person who is turning 3 later this year. Like many other little people she adores the film Frozen so I’ve been busy planning for her birthday party. I was sent some craft supplies from Craft Merrily to keep us busy over the summer holidays. We spent much of the afternoon crafting. My 4 year old loves to craft and he’s currently interested in making cards for everyone we know. Fortunately for him he was sent a little stencil kit from Meadow Kids which helped him create the perfect cards. He used the stencils, colouring pencils and paper to make some pictures of animals. The stencils were quite small but perfect for his hands. He was able to hold them down and draw inside them. Then we made cards using the paper and envelopes. So I’m blogging about doll quilts a lot at the moment. I love making them and trying out different techniques. One of my favourites was the Grandmother’s Garden doll quilt. I really enjoyed working on it although the shape gave me a few headaches over how to finish it. However, finishing off the Summer Stitching quilt gave me a few ideas which helped. One of my Summer projects was to have some fun with DYLON dye. Dyeing is a great way to give your textiles a new lease of life, especially if you want to be on trend with the latest colours. These days it couldn’t be easier, all you need is some packets of fabric dye, salt, a bucket and your fabric. The start of the school term is feeling very real at the moment. I’m panic buying school uniform, have stuck up the pictures of Reception we were given and have bought my 4 year old a Planes 2 Fire and Rescue lunchbox so I can bribe him to help him get through the first few days.
