    Toasting marshmallows and watching Ferdinand

Yesterday we had an amazing trip to Blakeney Point to see the seals! It was brilliant but very cold considering the time of year. Our boat trip lasted an hour, after we were back on dry land we headed to The Anchor Inn at Morston to warm up with a delicious hot lunch. The weather wasn’t great so we were happy to come back to our cottage, light the log burner, toast marshmallows and watch Ferdinand. We didn’t manage to watch it at the cinema but the trailer looked really funny, definitely a family film we would watch. Ferdinand Stop…

Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week. Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things Our family have gone a little crazy for the latest Lego Minfigs series. Lego Minifigures Series 18 has a PARTY theme celebrating 40 years of Lego. We love to collect the sets and have almost a full set thanks to our local toy shop. They have a very helpful swap board. DreamWorks Tours: Shrek’s Adventure London

Last week we were invited to tour Shrek’s Adventure! London which is located at County Hall on the South Bank. The 2,000 square metre experience is based on a brand new adventure written by the DreamWorks team. It’s a unique themed visitor attraction which transports visitors through a live interactive adventure featuring Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Puss in Boots and other favourites from the beloved franchise. We love the South Bank and have been on the London Eye but never visited Shrek’s Adventure! London before. The children were really excited when they arrived outside and found out where they were going. Shrek’s…

    Sylvanian Families Easter egg hunt

We’ve had a crazy Easter so far. This year we celebrated at home with the whole family. We had gifts, a visit from the Elf (he’s not just for Christmas you know!), and a few Easter egg hunts – thank you Co-op for sending us so many supplies! There was plenty of down time with my 6 and 8 year olds too. Easter is fun but they also need quiet time playing with their toys. We had a lot of fun with our Spring time Sylvanian Families sensory tray so we thought we would have more seasonal fun with our…

Personalised name puzzles and bedroom update

Both my children have lovely bedrooms and, being on holiday from school, they are getting plenty of time to play in them. We recently re-decorated my 6 year olds bedroom and now it is a really great space for her to sleep and play. I mentioned that earlier this year we put up a really fun print on her bedroom wall. I also been adding some fun, playful touches. I’m a huge fan of monochrome, and whilst I didn’t think it would suit the walls, I couldn’t resist a few items around her room. I bought her a new white…

Our Disney on Ice Worlds of Enchantment experience

Last week I told you how excited we were to go and see our first Disney on Ice show at the Wembley SSE Arena. Our whole family are big Disney fans so were really looking forward to trying something new and watching Disney On Ice Worlds of Enchantment. Yesterday we had a lovely morning at home, the sun was out for the first time and it was great to spend time in the garden. After lunch we headed into town as we wanted to go shopping at the London Designer Outlet before the show. We grabbed some bargains and stopped…

  • Bento - Easter - Family Life

    Easter themed bento lunch

Our Easter weekend passed in a bit of a blur thanks to a house full of family. We had Easter Egg Hunts (indoors due to the weather) but it just felt so busy with little time to relax. Thankfully the children have a 2 week break from school which gives us plenty of time to enjoy Easter treats. We have plastic Easter eggs everywhere. They’ve been used in our Nom Nums Easter Egg Hunt, in our usual Easter Egg hunt (filled with chocolate eggs) as well as covered in washi tape. They also make the perfect container for an Easter…
