Have you heard about the 30 Days Wild challenge? 30 Days Wild is the UK’s month-long nature challenge organised by The Wildlife Trust which is taking place now. The idea is simple – can you do something wild every day for 30 days? Who are the Wildlife Trust? No matter where you are in the UK, your Wildlife Trust is inspiring people about wildlife and wild places and saving, protecting and standing up for nature near you. Have you been planning for Father’s Day which falls later this month? I love treating my husband, although I have to admit he can be a little tricky to buy for. Generally he is happy with handmade Father’s Day cards and a cup of tea in bed, which is great because, let’s be realistic, there’s little chance of a lie in at our house! This year I wanted to make Father’s Day extra special for my other half. He’s the most wonderful husband and father, he works really hard to support us all and has been going through a tricky…

Have you recovered from half term? Today my children went back to school and I returned to work. We packed a lot into half term and I was pretty glad to get back to our routine and do something normal like the food shop on my own today! As I sit with a hot cup of tea, Radio 4 playing and a mammoth to do list to get through, I thought I would take some time to share my recent Father’s Day Scrabble art craft. Father’s Day isn’t until June 17th but it’s never too early to start on your handmade…

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. Have you ever heard of Scientist Dress-up Day? Goodness knows how anyone comes up with these days but the school newsletter gave us at least a weeks warning of the latest dress up day at school. Yes, Scientist Dress-up Day is now a thing. What is Scientist Dress-up Day? Friday 8th June is Scientist Dress-up Day. On Friday children can go to school wearing a ‘lab coat’ decorated with words and pictures linked to science. With two children at school we seem to have a lot of strange requests, but this is one of the craziest. DIY Scientist Dress-up Day lab coat…

The 2018 Tour de France will be the 105th edition of the Tour de France, one of cycling’s three Grand Tours. It’s an annual male multiple stage bicycle race primarily held in France, while also occasionally making passes through nearby countries. Like the other Grand Tours, it consists of 21 stages over a little more than 3 weeks. A few years ago we came up with our Tour de France inspired bicycle craft for kids. Today we’re sharing another fun bicycle craft for kids, inspired by the Tour de France. Tour de France bicycle craft for kids We used: green…

Did you know that the Queen celebrates her birthday on the second Saturday in June? It’s a bit of a vague date as it’s not her real birthday. Her actual birthday is April 21st but her official one is later this month. To celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s 92nd birthday we had fun with our London Guards craft stick activity. Let me show you them. We love living in London, especially when the sun is shining. It’s great to be a tourist in our own city and walk past our favourite landmarks, such as Buckingham Palace, Downing Street or the Houses of…

We love half term. The freedom from the school routine is sooooo welcome! The Summer term is fun but seems super busy with the longer days and more outdoor activities! This half term we’re staying pretty local with a few long weekends visiting family. Last weekend we took ourselves off to Stonehenge. It’s somewhere we have wanted to visit for a while, especially since my son studied the Stone Age in Year 3. Exploring Stonehenge with kids We’re English Heritage members so had pre-booked our tickets via their website. We picked a 10am slot as we knew it would get…
