I’ve mentioned before that my 6 year old is just crazy about dinosaurs. She collects Schleich dinosaurs to play with, loves reading about dinosaurs and has watched all of the Jurassic World films over and over again. We haven’t really done many dinosaur crafts before which is why our easy dinosaur fossil craft for kids is so overdue. This is a really fun dinosaur craft for kids which I’ve done with my 6 and 8 year old. It’s really quick and easy, so perfect as an after school activity. All you will need is a sheet of black A4 paper,…

Looking forward to our first Eurocamp holiday As much as I love the 6 week holiday they do require a little planning. We are fortunate to be surrounded by Kids Clubs so my children will be spending some time at those. This year we’ve booked…

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. The weather has been lovely all week (again!) – I’m actually getting a little bored of saying that 🙂 Each week I start off by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things My big news is that I started my new job! I’ve been a SAHM/WAHM for the…

I think you can always tell when the Summer holiday has started because we’ve signed up for the Summer Reading Challenge at our local library! Have you heard of the Summer Reading Challenge? It’s the UK’s biggest reading promotion for children aged four to eleven and runs over the summer holidays. It’s completely free to sign up, although you will need to be a member of the library first (which is also free!). Free Summer activities with the kids – Summer Reading Challenge As a bit of a bookworm myself, both my children were signed up to the library within…

Can you believe that it’s 14 years since we were first introduced to The incredibles? I’ve always been a huge fan of Pixar films and enjoyed watching this when it first came out, and re-watching it with my children last week. Disney Pixar’s The Incredibles Bob Parr (A.K.A. Mr. Incredible), and his wife Helen (A.K.A. Elastigirl), are the world’s greatest famous crime-fighting superheroes in Metroville. Always saving lives and battling evil on a daily basis. But fifteen years later, they have been forced to adopt civilian identities and retreat to the suburbs and live a normal life with their three…

Last month we reviewed the fabulous How to make your own Squishies & Slime magbook. It’s a brilliant book for crafty kids with over 50 DIY projects to squish, squash, smoosh and stretch. Both my kids love squishies, especially the smaller ones they got from Squishy Box. Our family love to craft so it was inevitable that we would make some of the squishies from the magbook. How to make your own Squishy Popcorn The children chose several they wanted to make and the first one was popcorn. It wasn’t hard to find the right supplies. We bought large sponges from…

I’ve recently shared a few posts with you about our camping adventures. We are a family who just loves to explore and this year bought our first tent. This means we can holiday at home and even abroad! I can’t believe we’ve never really left our beautiful country, perhaps that’s not surprising when we live in such a gorgeous place. Last month we took our tent to a family-friendly campsite for a weekend and just loved the experience. The children loved the novelty of our tent, cooking and living simply outdoors. I haven’t quite got over the communal bathrooms but…

I know that s’mores are a well known American treat but they are so easy to re-create at home. Have you heard of s’mores? It’s a traditional campfire treat popular in North America. It consists of a fire-roasted marshmallow and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker. Homemade s’mores We are obsessed about camping at the moment, read more about our outdoor adventures here. So we really wanted to try re-creating these delicious sounding treats at home. You need few ingredients. We made ours two different ways. The first time we used Jacobs Cream Crackers, chocolate spread…
