My Cricut machine has been getting a lot of use over the last few months. I don’t make things to sell but I use it to decorate and personalise our home. Over the last few months the Cricut Maker has been out a lot and I’ve used it to make personalised chocolate wrappers for my children, a personalised dog bib, Thank You cards, advent calendars and even place settings for Christmas Day! How to personalise your Cricut machine I store my Cricut Maker and accessories in a vintage kitchen cupboard in our dining room, I wish I had space to…

My son and husband are huge Star Wars fans. We all loved the latest Star Wars film, Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker when we watched it last week. This was the first year my son didn’t ask for a Star Wars Lego set for Christmas which made me feel a bit sad, although he did buy a small Mandalorian Lego set. We can’t wait to watch The Mandalorian when it comes to the UK via Disney+ this March. According to an Instagram post from John Favreau, writer and director, the series is set between the end of…

My son has been asking to get a cat for a few months now. We used to have two cats, who sadly died, and have been thinking of getting another pet. I thought it would be an adventure to visit a Cat Cafe over the holidays. I love the idea of a cafe where you could enjoy tea and cake whilst enjoying the company of a cat. I had previously visited Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium in London (nearly 2 years ago) but unfortunately they didn’t allow children. Paws For Thought – Romsey’s {kid friendly} Cat Cafe It took me a…

As much as I love seeing my children receive and open gifts, I want them to appreciate how lucky they are and be grateful. We’ve always made and sent Thank You cards and I look forward to an opportunity to be crafty post-Christmas. I was looking back through all the different Thank You cards we had made, and my favourite were the simple Thank You cards we made (and I cut by hand). Thank goodness I discovered the Cricut because it made this years’ cards super simple. Cricut made Thank You cards There are hundreds of free projects on Cricut…

We’ve been wanting to get out to explore the latest art trail in London for a while. Did you know there was a Snowman art trail in town this winter? This year, London’s most picturesque Christmas market, Christmas by the River, has welcomed a festive sculpture trail celebrating Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman. The Snowman story has been an integral part of our book advent for a few years now. We love the story and have enjoyed the animated version to over the last few weeks. So when I heard there was an art trail dedicated to The Snowman I knew…

I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. Monday Happy List {Week 272} The first week of our Christmas holidays has flown by. We all had a lovely time on Christmas Day and the kids were pleased with their presents. This year we had a new Christmas Eve Box which was slightly bigger and able to hold some…

December whizzes by pretty quickly for any family but especially for parents who are trying to hide an Elf on the Shelf. My children still believe in the magic of Christmas so we were excited to bring out our Elf on the Shelf to bring some extra magic throughout December. This year I bought a few books and extra accessories to help me as there’s nothing worse than remembering you haven’t moved your Elf when you’re off to bed. I bought an Elf on the Shelf Gingerbread Activity Set, and two books – Elf On The Shelf Scout Elves at Play…

We love being part of Asmodee’s Blogger Board Game club and were delighted to receive Catan, the famous board game by Klaus Teuber to play and review. This is a game my husband has wanted to play for ages so we were excited to have some time over the Christmas holidays to learn how to play it. Catan: Trade, Build, Settle Picture yourself in the era of discoveries: after a long voyage of great deprivation, your ships have finally reached the coast of an uncharted island. Its name shall be Catan! But you are not the only discoverer. Other fearless…

As soon as the postman handed me a Kawaii Box the children were really excited. The packaging is so bright and distinctive that they knew exactly what the box was. We’ve reviewed a Kawaii Box before and loved it. In case you haven’t heard of it, it’s a monthly subscription box from Japan filled with cute treats. They believe that a tiny dose of cuteness can provide a huge boost of positivity to our life – and we agree! What’s inside the December Kawaii Box? It’s been a while since we reviewed the Kawaii Box subscription box but we were so…
