I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I love to write. Monday Happy List {Week 276} Last week my daughter was invested into Cubs bringing an end to our 4 year association with Beavers. I stopped volunteering with the Scouts at the end of last year and I’m pretty excited to have two children in Cubs. My daughter is ready for…

If you love sharing a book with your child then you will probably know of Dr Seuss. But did you know that there is also a Dr Seuss Day which is celebrated on 2nd March? It’s a lovely reason to pick up a Dr Seuss book, re-read an old favourite or discover a new story. Over the weekend my daughter lost one of her front teeth. She’s been really frustrated by how long her teeth are taking to fall out, especially when so many of her friends have lost a lot already. Her adult teeth seem to be pushing her baby teeth out which she’s finding quite painful. Both my children still believe in the Tooth Fairy and I had fun making our own printable tooth fairy receipt which I’m sharing today. {Free printable} tooth fairy receipt I love the fact that my children believe in the magic of the Tooth Fairy and it certainly…

2019 was the first year I decided to join up to Goodreads and take part in a challenge to read more books. I found it fun to share my book reviews and recommendations and discovered lots of great books to read. Last year I aimed to read 12 books but ended up reading 50, this year I hope to do even better. My first book of 2020 was the delightful Gingerbread by Helen Oyeyemi. Gingerbread by Helen Oyeyemi Perdita Lee may appear your average British schoolgirl; Harriet Lee may seem just a working mother trying to penetrate the school social hierarchy;…

I love this time of year with so many special days and anniversaries to celebrate. I’ve always enjoyed sharing the Dr Seuss books with my children. We’ve tried a few different crafts to celebrate Dr Seuss Day, which falls on the 2nd of March, such as the Grinch paper plate craft. Today we’re sharing another Dr Seuss craft, with our one fish two fish Rice Krispies treats, inspired by One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, a 1960 children’s book by Dr. Seuss. It is a simple rhyming book about a boy and a girl named Jay and Kay…
