I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s usually a post I love to write but obviously life has changed considerably for us and everyone else in the UK over the last few weeks. Life is hard at the moment for everyone but I still want to try and record some of our happier moments. Monday Happy List {Week 288} It felt like a short week…

Us Brits love our green spaces. We’re lucky to have a little garden and we love pottering round in it, filling it with colour every year. Our back wall is a sun trap and covered with climbing roses. We’ve always enjoyed roses, they seem such an essentially English plant. Which is why I was keen to review The Rose: The History of the World’s Favourite Flower told through 40 extraordinary roses which has recently been published by Welbeck Publishing. The Rose: The History of the World’s Favourite Flower told through 40 extraordinary roses The Rose has been published in collaboration…

We’ve downloaded a few new apps for the children recently. We’ve always encouraged screen time, as long as it’s balanced with educational work, physical exercise and creative pursuits during lockdown. Last week we tidied up the children’s playhouse and Little Sis loves nothing more that chilling in her den with her iPad and enjoying some downtime there. Rockford’s Rock Opera {app review} We were recently introduced to Rockford’s Rock Opera, an ecological musical story, which she has been enjoying. Aimed at children between 6-12, the story revolves around a boy Moog and his dog Rockford who live in Battersea, North…

Disclosure – paid post in collaboration with Haribo I don’t know about you but we’re a family who loves to celebrate Easter. It’s always been a big event in our year, with Easter eggs and presents, an Easter Egg Hunt in the garden, and a delicious meal with family. This year was always going to be completely different as we were unable to visit family, but we still wanted it to be eggstra-special. Our Easter traditions We still kept many of the traditions which make Easter a special holiday. We baked delicious Easter biscuits, I managed to buy everyone some…

Regular readers will know that every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have had a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more! I’ve been making more time for grown up crafting and I love to make the kits and hopefully try something new. Felt dinosaur pincushion Back in Feb I made the cute Kitty Keyring from Issue 115. Issue 116 came with Jenny Blair’s dino pincushion kit. The kit included felt, embroidery thread, a needle, and toy stuffing. Working with felt is fun and I enjoyed making…
