Monday Happy List

Monday Happy Things {Week 373}

Yolkin macarons

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy Things {Week 373}

We all love December 1st as it marks the start of advent and of course advent calendars! This was the first year in a while that our son didn’t choose a Lego calendar, instead opting for the Haynes electronic games advent calendar. Although it is designed for ages 14 and over he’s only 11 and loves it. My daughter chose a slime advent calendar but hated it so I’ve already swapped it for a homemade fidget toy advent calendar, re-using the wooden advent calendar I made a few years ago. My husband has the Joe & Seph’s Gourmet Popcorn advent calendar, and I have the Dr Hauschka one.

Over the weekend my son and I built one of the gingerbread house kits we bought, the M&S Food Gingerbread House Kit. I bought a few this year but they are always so much fun. He enjoyed decorating it and we will be eating it this week!

On Sunday we went into London for the first time in months to see Operation Ouch! Live on Stage. It was a really fun show and it felt great to be back in the theatre. I’ve written a review of Operation Ouch! Live on Stage which you can read in this post.

Whilst we were in London we stopped off at Yolkin to try some of their delicious products. We are big fans of their macrons and opted for a selection of their festive macaron ice cream sandwiches.

Over the weekend we got out our Christmas decorations. We have so many boxes! We put up our outdoor Christmas lights and joined in with our little street party and lights switching on. We enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies and my daughter came away with most of the prizes from the tombola!

    I can imagine Operation Ouch would be great, I love the twin doctors, they are so relatable. You’ve made me think about gingerbread houses, I need to get a kit and enjoy!

    I adore that you’ve all got custom interest advent calendars – my husband bought me a coffee one and now regrets te caffeinated chaos…
