New Year paper hat craft for kids

After the build up to Christmas we usually have a quiet New Year. We love to craft in some way and this year came up with a fun New Year paper hat craft for kids. This is such a simple idea but easy for kids to get involved with.

You will need

Piece of A4 card

Green, silver and pink glitter card

Pink pipe cleaners

glue

Scissors

Sellotape and double-sided tape

2023 colouring template

Easy New Year paper hat craft for kids

First take your piece of card and cut two strips, approximately 10x5cm.

Place the short ends of the strips together and tape together to make a continuous circle, this is the base of your New Year hat.

To make the crown stronger I cut the same amount from the pink glitter sheet.

And then attached this over the card base using strips of double sided tape.

Print the template provided and carefully cut the pieces out using scissors.

Paste the two numbers 2 into green glitter foam paper and the number zero and three into silver glitter foam paper.

Carefully cut them out again using scissors.

Attach each pipe cleaner to the bottom side of each number. Make zigzag patterns out of the pipe cleaners.

Using the remaining silver glitter foam paper, cut out different sizes of circles.

Attach the numbers and the circles to the base of your hat and there you go! Happy New Year! Let me know if you have a go at our New Year paper hat craft.
