Musings at the end of a school term

political embroidery hoop

With three weeks to go I am hopeful that both my children will be able to enjoy the last few weeks of term. I am certainly looking forward to a 6 week break if we can get through the next few weeks. Unfortunately my son has had his Transition Day and Year 6 trip cancelled which makes me so annoyed when I see all the crowds at the big sporting events taking place.

So I couldn’t resist this amazing hoop kit I found, it summed up my thoughts perfectly! Beautiful backstitched florals meet subversive handwritten text to create this “f**k the Tories” hoop kit from Hello Treacle.

The hoop kit contained everything I needed including:

Pre-printed organic cotton calico fabric
A full skein of black DMC thread
6” embroidery hoop
Needle

The kit was quite simple, stitched with simple stitches, including backstitch and chain stitch.

I enjoyed working with black embroidery thread and it actually took me a few nights to stitch. I love that it looks like a lovely embroidery hoop until you look closer and read the words. My children haven’t read the message yet but I think they already knew my political opinions.
