Happy Mother’s Day to all you mum’s out there. Mother’s Day always comes so close to my son’s birthday and my own birthday that we don’t usually make a fuss about it. I love handmade cards and this year my children spoilt me with cards made at school.
I was a pretty lucky lady because yesterday we were in London for our London Duck Tours outing and I popped into the Orla Kiely shop in Covent Garden. My husband let me pick something for Mother’s Day and I chose a basket of goodies specially put together. There were two to choose from and I opted for the blue basket.
It contained a pretty hand spot flower towel in lemon and cream, large tonal striped mug, a lavender scented candle, Grow Your Own Chillies in an enamel pot and a tube of the Orange Caraway intense hand balm. This was all wrapped up in cellophane and came with a gorgeous Mother’s Day card.
As well as this lovely gift my 5 year old made me a handprint picture of me. As we walked home from school on Friday she asked me what colours my eyes were! I said they were green so she said she might have to change the card when we got home. Luckily she left it as it was because I love it.
My 7 year old also used his hands to make a lovely Mother’s Day card – two hands joined together with a little message inside. He put a lot of effort into it and I will treasure it.
Hope you all have a great day.
