Monday Happy List

Monday Happy Things {Week 394}

Walpole Park Ealing

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy Things {Week 394}

I finished the sweetest little embroidered banner which came with Love Embroidery magazine over the weekend. I love a small project which I know I can finish in a few days and it got me back into the mood for my sewing projects. I bought a Cotton Clara hoop kit from eBay which arrived, and I finished in a few days! Sometimes I want something nice and easy to work on. I’m still not sure what to make next although I really want to stitch something for the Platinum Jubilee next month.

My husband bought me a couple of books from Persephone Books and I’ve just started reading Miss Buncle’s Book by DE Stevenson. The books are beautifully made, all with a gorgeous light grey cover, and different endpapers. The endpaper for Miss Buncle’s Book is ‘Flower vase lit by rays from a table lamp’ by Vanessa Bell.

We painted one wall of our bedroom a lovely dark grey. The wallpaper we had was a bit nondescript and we fancied something bolder. We are having new flooring in all our bedrooms next week so needed to get the painting done first. It looks so lovely and only took a few hours.

Our list of places to visit never seems to get shorter and over the weekend we visited Walpole Park in Ealing. It was such a lovely park we were glad to have visited. It’s next to Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery. Pitzhanger was designed by Sir John Soane and is beautiful. We didn’t have time to visit inside but explored the gardens, and walked into Walpole Park behind it. The weather was amazing and we had a lovely walk.

Our Easter treats have all been finished so we made a batch of yummy chocolate brownies for the Bank Holiday weekend. Hoping for some sunshine so we can sit outside to enjoy them!
