Monday happy things – week 121

Hope you all had a great weekend. Ours was filled with parties and swimming lessons as usual. Every Monday I write a post about the five things which have made me happy in the previous week – imaginatively titled Monday happy things.

My son was off sick most of last week with chicken pox. He is pretty good company and I enjoyed spending time with him. When he was feeling a little better we managed to get out and he found a huge Chewbacca figure in a charity shop. He was so excited to add it to his Star Wars collection although I am a little freaked out by it!

We decorated the spare room with some gorgeous Orla Kiely wallpaper we got last year. We’ve been doing lots of jobs around the house and the spare room was the last room to be done. I can’t believe we’ve been in our house nearly 4 years now so it was definitely time to paint and decorate it. We put the wallpaper up on one wall and it is so lovely I wish it was in the living room.

My daughter started Rainbow Guides which she is so excited about. I find it really strange dropping her off and leaving her for an hour but I love the fact she has a little independence and is making new friends. I hope she has as many adventures as her brother does at Beaver Scouts.

I’ve been enjoying some amazing weather this week. We’ve had days of blue skies which more than make up for the biting cold. I love winter and enjoy wrapping up and getting outside and enjoying it.

On Saturday the whole family visited the London Model Engineering Exhibition at Ally Pally. It’s not my typical day out but we had fun and there was lots to entertain the children, including some amazing Lego inventions.
