Christmas days out Lego

Monday Happy Things

I can’t believe I’ve managed to keep posting the 5 things which make me happy for well over a year now. It’s a great way of marking the passing weeks which are going so quickly. This week has been busy with a big birthday and the school Christmas Fayre, which I helped organise. I’m not sure how I managed to do anything else – but I did!

We upcycled a wooden crate into a sleigh to hold our Book Advent. I painted it in my favourite Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Emperor’s Silk which is a gorgeous, deep red colour. You can see our cheeky Elf of the Shelf filled it with Advent treats for the children on Tuesday.

I found a brilliant new baking subscription box and received my first Bakes Box. It was an exciting collaboration with Maid of Gingerbread to make a Gingerbread Box. I’m really hoping I’ll have time to bake it this weekend.

My Lego Gingerbread House arrived (along with some exciting Lego Minecraft sets for my 5 year old for Christmas) and I really enjoyed putting it together.

We spent Saturday afternoon at the Festival of Lights at Longleat. Europe’s largest ever display of Chinese lanterns transforms Longleat into a glowing winter wonderland, and we all had a great time. There was a giant tree with a light display, a Chinese Dragon Boat, Safari Park Animal lanterns, panda lanterns, sea animals and so much.

It was my mum’s birthday which gave us a great reason for a family get together. The children loved spending the weekend with their cousins and we had an impromptu photo shoot with our Christmas jumpers on. I think the outtakes are even better than the proper photos!
