Monday happy things

This has been quite a quiet week for us. We’ve stayed close to home, just trying to get through the days until half term.

My 4 year old had a brilliant school report. I know I’m totally biased but it was great to hear how well he’s settled into Reception. I was able to look through his workbooks where he had written about why he was special (because he can ride a bike) and what he wants to be when he’s older (an artist).

I baked some delicious lemon meringue cupcakes after finally getting my hands on a packet of the Orla Kiely branded Kerrygold butter.

My daughter and I have been enjoying Dinky Dancer. We’ve been to our third session and she’s dancing and joining in like a pro. She seems to be a bit of a Strictly fan too!

I finished embroidering my hexagons for Wild Olive’s Winter Stitching Club pattern. I love that weekends allow me some stitching time and I instagrammed the hexies as I finished them – there was a steady stream 🙂 I started turning the embroidered pieces into puffy hexies and I’m hoping to finish my table mat this week.

We spent the morning at our local Farmer’s Market. There were slices of oreo chocolate cake consumed, sweet gingerbread house ornaments and Shipping Forecast postcards to purchase and the children exhausted themselves on the bouncy castle.

Looks like you’ve had a wonderful week full of fun.
The chocolate cake looks so good. I’m making hexies too and the quilt is starting to take shape and is almost big enough to cover both of legs now. I hope you have a wonderful week this week x

Oh what a fabulous day, I’m so jealous and your cakes look nummy. I’m a HUGE Kerrygold butter fan due to it being grass fed and so awesomly awesome hahah.

Yummy, that cake looks divine. Roll on half term, this ery first full term as been hard and tiring hasn’t it? I have noticed my little one coming on massively, fantastic writing from your little one too. 🙂
