Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.
Monday Happy List {Week 344}
My daughter and I both got our first hair cuts in 6 months! It felt so good to visit the hairdresser again and have a good tidy up too.
A few years ago I bought myself a Signs of the Sewdiac sub box by Samantha Claridge. Signs of the Sewdiac was a 12 month subscription box and I purchased a few boxes but never completed the set. I discovered one of the little stitchy projects when I was having a sort out – Box 2 Pisces which featured The Storks or two pairs of embroidery scissors. I used a simple backstitch to go over the outline of the design. The metallic thread was a real pain but worked well on the small project.
To celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week I bought myself one of the new adult version of the Happy Journal. My 9 year old loves her Happy Journal so I wanted to try it for myself.
The weather was pretty poor over the weekend but we took the pup to the garden centre to pick up some new plants. He loves a visit to the garden centre and we placed him in a trolley so he could see everything. He looked very cute and had a great time.
I was glad I had booked myself on an online Boro stitch mending workshop as part of Hey Craft! an event to raise awareness for mental health during Mental Health Awareness Week. It was organised by the Craft Council and really fun to try something new. Boro means rags in Japanese, and it involves using offcuts of kimonos to upcycle and repair clothes.
Have a great week!
