I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I love to write.
Monday Happy List {Week 313}
The children have been back at school for 5 weeks now. They are both so happy to be immersed in school life. Cubs and Scouts have re-started face to face meetings too which means our evenings are also busy. We managed to squeeze in a quick trip to the pub whilst the children were at karate last week which was fun.
It’s been really difficult to meet up with friends but last week I met a friend for coffee and cake after work. As the school I work in has been split into year group bubbles, I don’t get to see my colleagues at break times. It was lovely to go out for a catch up after work and put the world to rights again.
Our trip to The Pop Up Farm was cancelled last weekend due to the weather so I re-booked for Saturday. Thankfully the weather was much better this weekend so we were able to go. It was slightly different to last year but still just as much fun. We picked all kinds of pumpkins and squash and the kids enjoyed hunting for the rare white pumpkins.
We also visited Ikea for the first time in months. We had a huge shopping list and managed to get all the things we wanted. Then we spent Sunday building furniture and putting up shelves. We picked up some crazy purchases too, including a tunnel for the puppy to play in and some gingerbread houses and dough.
With our pumpkins washed and on display we decided it was time to build our Gingerbread Halloween House. We used a ready-made kit from M&S which meant it was easy to put together. I picked up some edible Halloween decorations and it was fun to make a Halloween gingerbread house. It smells so good so we may eat it soon!
Have a great week everyone.

October 12, 2020 at 3:54 pmThis is so lovely and what a great idea to do a happy list every Monday. Hope the puppy tunnel went down well, I might have to try one of those for my pooch who turns 3 this week!

October 12, 2020 at 5:30 pmSounds like a lovely week. I work in a school and it’s so weird not seeing people.
There are some staff I have not seen since March as we are in different areas! It’s very odd x

October 12, 2020 at 10:51 pmSounds like a great week! I am hoping to book for the Pop Up Farm for next week – I am so glad they have been able to reopen for this as I missed going for sunflowers and sweetcorn as I know many others did.

October 13, 2020 at 8:42 amMy kiddies are happy to be back in school too. The routine and seeing their friends is really good for them rather than being stuck at home.

October 15, 2020 at 1:16 pmI want a Halloween gingerbread house! I’ve never seen them for any occasion other than Christmas. I’d love a good trip to IKEA right about now but unfortunately I’m trying to get rid of things currently, not get more!
