I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. The children have nearly finished opening their handmade advent calendars and I’m running out of ideas for our Elf on the Shelf which must mean it’s nearly Christmas.
Monday Happy List {Week 271}
Last week was pretty hectic and it feels like we fitted in a lot with work and school, as well as parties at Beavers and Cubs. I was so ready to finish work on Thursday and start our Christmas holidays. We already seem to have packed in so much including going to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on Thursday. It made a great Christmas treat and we all loved the film. I really want to watch it again as my 9 year old talked all the way through it!
On Friday we were fortunate to be invited to watch a local panto – Aladdin at Harrow Arts Centre. It was a really fun show, very family-friendly with lots of songs. My children really enjoyed the show, and it was very interactive with lots of audience participation. We’re written a whole post about it if you fancy going to see it.
We’ve baked a lot of gingerbread this Christmas. It’s always fun to play with and the children enjoy using their favourite cutters. This year we bought a gingerbread house kit from Lakeland in the shape of a caravan. It was a bit different to the normal gingerbread house. The kit included ready made icing and sweets to decorate and Little Sis pretty much decorated the whole thing herself.
The kids both said they wanted to play lots of games over the Christmas holidays. I thought we played a lot of games but we’ve been playing games non-stop since they finished school on Thursday. We’ve been learning how to play Catan and Little Sis has been enjoying the new Superzings Race to Rescue Pressmatic game. She loves collecting Superzings and she found this a fun game. It’s quite simple, be the first player to free Professor K by defeating your rivals and collecting a complete set of battle tokens.
We’ve been out a lot but stayed in too. Have you watched the animated film Klaus on Netflix yet? It’s about a selfish postman and a reclusive toymaker who form an unlikely friendship, delivering joy to a cold, dark town that desperately needs it. It’s such a lovely film, we all enjoyed watching it whilst working our way through the Quality Street.
Have a great week everyone!
