I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.
Monday Happy List {Week 259}
Family
Last week we started the process of looking for a Secondary School for my son to apply to. Although he’s only in Year 5 we wanted to make sure we looked round a few schools this year as there are quite a few schools near where we live. Despite working in a Secondary School, the school we looked round was huge (10 form entry!) and I think it overwhelmed all of us.
Both children are involved in Scouting and my son went to Cub Camp this weekend whilst my daughter just went for the day with her Beaver group. It was strange to have such a quiet weekend without them, I suppose this is a sign of what life will be like in a few years.
Making
My husband upgraded my phone to the new iPhone 11 Pro Max. The camera is amazing and I enjoyed taking some photos with it over the weekend.
My sister came to stay and wanted to try the Cricut Maker so we got it out and made a few handmade gifts over the weekend. I picked up some lovely coloured vinyl at Hobbycraft and they looked great on little bags. I may have to plan a few more handmade gifts for Christmas presents.
I was so excited that Vuelio announced me as one of the Top 10 UK Craft Blogs again.
Reading
Ok, I’m still reading The Animals at Lockwood Manor. It’s a good book but I’m just not finding as much time to read now I’m back at work. I’m hoping for a quieter week and will try and finish it this week.
Out and about
It was our 11th Wedding anniversary on Friday and we went out for a meal at Lomito in Northwood. It’s an Argentinian restaurant and the food was amazing. I don’t particularly like steak but my husband does (you can tell who chose the restaurant!).
On Saturday we went to see Keane in concert at the Royal Albert Hall. They have been my favourite band for years and I’ve been lucky enough to watch them perform at Ally Pally, Wembley, the O2 and the O2 Academy Brixton. The concert and venue was brilliant, as was the support act, Marie White. It was great to hear so many of my favourite tracks, as well as some songs from their new album, Cause and Effect.
We finished off our weekend with a trip to Mama Rosa in Ruislip. This is quite a new restaurant but we’ve wanted to try it for a while. The food was lovely and we can’t wait to take the kids there soon.
