Making Miffy mail!

Posted on August 27, 2015September 15, 2023 by jenny

The school holidays have given us lot of lovely time to craft and experiment. We’ve gone through lots of supplies and organised our craft supplies several times in a bid to keep tidy (not easy with two children who love to craft!). Yesterday we finally got the chance to try some products we were sent from Faber Castell – the Faber-Castell Connector Paint Box and the Clic & Go Water Pot.

Making Miffy mail!

We’ve never experimented with watercolour paint before but I came up with a fun activity to keep my children busy. We made our own Miffy mail with handmade stamps and envelopes!

The Faber-Castell Connector Paint Box is perfect for art and craft activities. There are 12 bright colours which are rich with high opacity. You can detach the connector paint tablets which is really helpful when you have two little people fighting over the colours!

The Faber-Castell Clic & Go Water Pot is a collapsible container which takes up very little room when not in use. It also has a handy waved rim so it can hold paint brushes.

I got out the Miffy stamps and the children carefully painted them with the different watercolours. They were really careful to use one colour at a time and we wiped the stamps with a baby wipe before they painted on a different colour. The colours were all really vibrant.

We left them to dry then carefully cut round each one with pinking shears to make them look like stamps.

We made our own envelopes with an unloved copy of i can count by dick bruna which I found in a charity shop. I love the simple pictures and vibrant colours.

I carefully cut out the pages using a Swann Morton scalpel then let the children choose their favourite pictures. They folded them into envelopes, sealing them shut with some Miffy tape. They stuck on their handmade Miffy stamps and put little handwritten notes inside.

This was a fun little craft and they enjoyed making Miffy mail. It was fun to experiment with watercolours too and we can’t wait to use them again soon.

Faber-Castell Connector Paint Box and Faber-Castell Clic & Go Water Pot are priced at £10.25 and £3.10 respectively. You can purchase them from Stone and specialist art shops. The Miffy stamps and washi tape were both purchased from Etsy.
