Is it too early to be feeling a tiny bit fed up about Christmas? I’m beginning to feel the strain of two excited children, a very cluttered house, presents to wrap and quite a few meals to plan and cook too.
So I thought I would take a break from reality and instead look forward to 2015 with a little look back at this year.
For me this has been the year of books as I’ve really got back into reading. Some of my favourites have been The Teashop on the Corner by Milly Johnson and A Single Breath by Lucy Clarke. I’m currently reading Mockingjay (Part III of The Hunger Games Trilogy). I hardly ever get to the cinema and I really wanted to find out what happened next after watching the first two films.
I’ve made lots of quilts this year, most have been quite small and hang on my quilt gallery wall, like the Honeycomb quilt and the Ticker tape doll quilt. I’ve completed all four Wild Olive Stitching club projects and taken part in lots of online craft swaps too.
This was the year my 4 year old started school and my husband changed jobs. I’d like to say that these changes have made both of them happy. In general, family love and relationships seem to be going from strength to strength. I may have consulted TheCircle for some reassurance on some points this year.
My children love to craft and I’ve lost count of the things we’ve made together. They love to create and many of their projects are documented over at my family blog – treading on lego. We’ve had lots of fun crafting together and it’s safe to say our house is decorated from top to bottom with their artwork.
A bit like last year I feel I’ve spent too much time blogging. It consumes a lot of my time once the children have gone to bed so once again I will be reminding myself to put my laptop down more and spend more of my precious time sewing and reading books, rather than looking at the screen. My blog continues to grow as do my social followers which must mean I am doing something right. I’m amazed to have over 70000 followers on Pinterest which is good, as I love Pinning!
In 2015 I hope to sew more, read more, spend more quality family time and blog less. What about you?

My year consisted of blogging every day. Like you, I lament the time wasted/lost. I still don’t know if I’ll continue next year, but after doing so for two years every morning, writing the blog has become a habit.
I did a similar post last week and one of my issues is spending too much time online/blogging – I really need to change that next year! Absolutely need to spend more family time next yr too, I don’t sew but I vow to read more next year x
