I adore receiving snail mail, not the brown envelope kind, but the little box of monthly loveliness otherwise known as subscription boxes. Last week I received the June Stocking Box which I have been looking forward to sharing with you. The idea behind Stocking Box is a subscription box full of handmade goodies – a Christmas stocking every month!
The June box contained all the goodies below wrapped in tissue paper so it was really exciting to look through. There was also a little booklet with information about each artist.
I think my favourite item was the gorgeous Garden Birds temporary tattoos by Kate Broughton. I can’t wait to use these but I think I’ll be fighting my children for them.
I love candles and these Scent Melts by Flamingo Candles are made from soybean wax. They smell delicious and are a great alternative to oils and scented candles.
There were some funky letter crayons by Diddy Colours.
A fun Ziggy Stardust badge by Alfie Winn which is on its way to my sister.
A set of notebooks in a 60’s floral design from Made By Mrs M. I have this pattern on a piece of fabric I bought from her etsy store which I love.
A sweet Wish Bracelet by Wren’s Handiwork, beautifully wrapped. You make a wish as you tie the anchor around your wrist, and it’s said that when the cord breaks, your wish will be granted.
Last but not least was Worry Cats by My Art & Soul. The dinky-iest little bottle contained tiny cats. You tell your worries to the tiny cats and let them take them away. I had Worry Dolls when I was younger and I love this modern version. Everything is stored in a matchbox which makes this the cutest piece of miniature art I’ve seen.
I hope you can tell I love the idea behind Stocking Box. It’s a great way to discover new British artists and support the handmade community.
StockingBox make limited subscription boxes and one off boxes priced from £19 per month (including postage and packaging). Next months box (click here for a sneak peak of some of the artists included) will go on sale at the end of the month so make sure you follow them on Twitter or Instagram for updates.
