I’m so happy that January is nearly over. It’s such a long month and I am looking forward to getting paid and embracing February next week! January has felt like a long month, although when I look back I have been quite crafty and made some fun things.
I was lucky to receive the 2022 Winter Craftpod subscription box for Christmas from my other half. This is my favourite quarterly subscription box and is always a joy to open. It was just what I needed and I’ve loved making the two craft kits which were inside.
2022 Winter Craftpod
There were two items to craft in this box. The first was a soft sculpture Polar Bear. I loved working with the 100% wool felt and stuffed with Corriedale wool. I’ve stitched quite a few animals thanks to my subscription boxes and this little Polar Bear was easy to stitch. He came with a scarf and blanket, which I decided not to make, so I could display him with my other felt animals.
The other item was a 3″ wintery scene embroidery hoop which featured a cosy cabin, winter berries and seeds. This was fun to stitch. I love layering fabrics and the brown linen contrasts well with the white wool felt.
I’ve been using a little wooden sewing tray for a while as it’s so easy to pick up when I have some stitching time. My mum gave me a magnetic needle case from Cotton Clara for Christmas and it’s been a bit of a life changer. No more lost needles and I can keep a couple of pins on it too!
I also had time to stitch the Cosy Cabin hoop kit which came with issue 34 of Love Embroidery magazine. I really miss all the craft kits which came with Mollie Makes magazine (I can’t believe they have ceased publishing) so this was a joy to receive and stitch.
However I am looking forward to February and stitching something more colourful! Bring on February, hearts and colour.

Such a lovely Christmas present to receive and the polar bear is adorable x
