Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 505}

Cotton Clara cross stitch mug of tea kit

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.

Five Happy Things {Week 505}

Like most people I binge watched the final 4 episodes of Season 3 (Part 2) Bridgerton last week. I’m glad I read the books first but enjoyed the series, especially the costumes and guessing where they had filmed in the UK. Basildon Park featured a lot in Season 3, including the rose garden (used as Featherington House), as well as the balustrade and the Octagon Room (both used as Lady Tilley Arnold’s house).

The elderflower is really going over where we live but we did manage to pick enough for another batch of elderflower cordial. We also picked up some smaller glass bottling jars from Ikea so we can make smaller batches next year.

Despite having lots of craft kits I’ve felt a but stuck with what to make. So I bought some more. Isn’t this what you do? I liked the Cotton Clara cross stitch mug of tea kit. I love drinking tea and knew this would be a fun addition to my hoops. It only took a few hours to stitch up and it reminds me of the classic cornishware mugs we used to use.

Although we’re not huge football fans we have been watching a lot of the Euros 2024. It’s fun to have something we can all watch as a family.

I have so many books in my TBR pile. My current read is The Story Spinner by Barbara Erskine, another historical fiction novel. I’ve red one of her books before (back in 2021 I read The Dream Weavers) and really enjoyed it, so was excited to discover she had written another novel.

    I completely relate to finding joy in the little things, like crafting kits and family TV time. That Cotton Clara cross stitch mug of tea kit sounds adorable—I might have to try it myself!

    I have been thinking of picking elder flowers and using them in something! It’s such a fun idea.

      I’m sure there are lots of ways to enjoy them but cordial is so easy to make!

    I enjoy watching Bridgerton too – I am all caught up and I had fun watching the most recent season.
