Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 492}

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while over the last few years. It is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.

Five Happy Things {Week 492}

The kids have been away at Scout camp all weekend. With them away having fun with their friends we decided to go for a long lunch at the Coy Carp with my mum. The pub sits between the river and canal so it’s a great location for lunch with a view.

The weather has been pretty decent and we managed a good walk through the woods to the site of the Battle of Britain site. The ground was quite mushy underfoot and the poor dog soaked up a lot of water, ruining his recent wash at the groomers.

I’ve been doing a lot of family history research lately. I’m trying to tidy up decades of research and put it in some order. I’ve made a few fresh discoveries and been easily sidetracked. I love to be organised and have saved everything neatly (and digitally) so I can find everything.

Although I’ve been busy with my family history I’ve also been stitching lots of Liberty tumbling blocks together. I’ve used a variety of fabrics and they can look a little messy on their own. When you start to put them together though you can really see the blocks. I’m so excited to finish this.

As the weather is getting warmer we spent some time tidying up the garden over the weekend. We cut and seeded the lawn, planted some seeds, and planned the work we’ll do this year. I love spending time outside and have started Pinning ideas!

Have a great week!

    The family history project seems awesome…I should do it as well. I come from a large family but unfortunately, the family is spread across 5 continents.
