Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 483}

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while over the last few years. It is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family. It’s a post I love to write and look back over.

Five Happy Things {Week 483}

Have you been watching Traitors? We didn’t watch the first season but are hooked on the second one. It’s something that we can all come together and watch. We all have our favourites and are enjoying the twists in each episode. Unlike Saltburn which my husband and I watched last night, definitely not safe for kids.

On Sunday we visited Hampton Court Palace as tickets are half price in January. We really enjoyed our visit to this historic palace and saw the Tudor kitchens and apartments of Henry VIII, as well as the apartments of William III and Mary II. We spent some time exploring the daffodils and snowdrops in the Palace gardens but it was just too cold to spend long outside. Sadly the cafe was only serving vegan food throughout January but we still enjoyed sitting in the cafe to warm up.

I’ve been stitching decorations from the Pretty Fabrics and Trims North Pole felt decoration pattern. December is such a busy month that I never seem to get enough time to make seasonal things as I would like. So this year I decided to make these in January, and put them away until we bring out the Christmas tree in December.

Last weekend I started the Stage 1 Family history course with the Society of Genealogists. I completed the Stage 3 course at the end of last year which was really good but very advanced. It’s a course I’ve wanted to take for years and I’m really happy I’m finally doing it. There’s a class each week and I’m learning so much which will hopefully help my family history research.
