M&S Ghoulish Gingerbread Skeleton Kit
Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 473}

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I love to sit down and write.

Five Happy Things {Week 473}

I couldn’t resist buying the M&S Ghoulish Gingerbread Skeleton Kit for my daughter. This is such a quick activity but always fun to decorate and then eat! My daughter created as many different gingerbread skeletons as she could. Then we shared them with some friends who came over for lunch.

As the kids had a two week half term we decided to go to Winchester for a few days. We found a lovely Grade 2 listed AirBnB overlooking the Cathedral. We loved exploring Winchester, it’s such a pretty city and we managed to catch Poppy Fields at Winchester Cathedral. We also went back to Paws for Thought Cat Cafe and made a trip to Food and Board game cafe.

Paws for Thought

I finally finished reading The Alperton Angels by Janice Hallett. It wasn’t my favourite of her books, I really enjoyed The Twyford Code, but it was a good read. I’m thinking of re-reading one of Jane Austen’s novels after our trip to Winchester, as we visited the house she stayed at and her grave in Winchester Cathedral.

Over the weekend we went to a great firework display at the Rugby Club. We haven’t been to a firework show for years but we were really glad we made the effort. The fireworks were colourful and lovely to watch.

My husband and I watched A Haunting in Venice, an Agatha Christie play adapted by Kenneth Branagh. It was good to watch a film based on one of her lesser known tales, I think Kenneth Branagh makes a good Hercule Poirot.

Have a great week all.
