Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 468}

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Five Happy Things {Week 468}

Last week we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary! My husband gave me some pretty crystal ear-rings and we celebrated with a delicious afternoon tea at Grim’s Dyke Hotel in London. I opted for the High Chai which included kachori, samosa and spring roll, as well as a Bombay sandwich. There were also plenty of scones and macarons.

I painted my sweet little vintage wooden dolls clothes horse. I picked it up at a charity shop a few years ago and it was bright orange. A few weeks ago I bought some paint from my local DIY shop and I finally got round to painting it. It looks so much better in a muted green, and it will make a great prop for my photographs.

I finished reading The Appeal by Janice Hallett. I loved The Twyford Code so was excited to read more by her. The Appeal was really good and kept me guessing to the end.

We tidied up the garden a lot last week. We cut the grass (and found a little frog!) and took down the tomato plants. We still have quite a lot in bloom though and we have a squash which is just running wild. It has a couple of flowers on it so perhaps it will produce fruit too.

Now it’s the 1st October I’m excited to decorate for Halloween. I had snuck a few pumpkin candles out but now I can go all out for Halloween. I picked up some fun craft kits for the kids so I am excited to celebrate spooky season.
