Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.
Five Happy Things {Week 461}
We spent the last week glamping at Jurassic Glamping at The Red House Farm in East Devon. The site was perfect and we were only 15 minutes away from the Jurassic coast and visited every day. The weather was all over the place but that didn’t stop us from exploring the Jurassic beach, going on a guided fossil walk, visiting lots of National Trust places and going on a rib ride.
I think the guided fossil walk with Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre was the highlight of our week away. Our guide was really knowledgeable and fun too, which meant we were all excited to discover fossils on Charmouth foreshore. We found so many different types of fossils, and were able to bring them home too.
It’s been a while since I read any novels by Thomas Hardy but I was excited to visit Hardy’s Cottage and Max Gate, both in Dorset. The two properties couldn’t have been more different, and the two guides who showed us round gave us totally different experiences too. Both had beautiful gardens and I think the recent sunshine and rain has encouraged the flowers and plants to go wild!
I took my box of English Paper Piecing blocks with me as I was determined to make time for evening stitching. I soon realised that I had been stitching the blocks together incorrectly, so spent my evenings unpicking the blocks I had already done.
