Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.
Five Happy Things {Week 451}
We started our week with another Bank Holiday! We have been spoilt this year with three Bank Holidays in May. We enjoyed a weekend away in Sherborne in Dorset, and came home via the pretty town on Marlborough. I was able to visit Seasalt which is one of my favourite clothes shops, where I picked up some new clothes.
As it was half term I took some time off of work and had some days out with the kids. We spent a few hours exploring Westminster Abbey before a trip to the theatre to go and see Wicked the Musical at The Apollo Victoria Theatre.
With a little more time on my hands over half term I was able to finally finish reading The Dress Diary of Mrs Anne Sykes: Secrets from a Victorian Woman’s Wardrobe. I really enjoyed reading the book. It was quite heavy so I read it in chunks but it was really interesting and I felt a little sad when I’d finished it.
We used our National Trust membership again to visit Grey’s Court in Oxfordshire over the weekend. It’s a place we’ve wanted to visit for a while and finally found some free time. As well as the beautiful house we explored the walled gardens which were hidden amongst the ruins of earlier buildings.
It was clearly a week of finishing as we caught up with the last episode of the last season of Succession which I was able to enjoy whilst I finished putting together the mini quilt from Pretty Fabrics and Trims I’ve been working on. This means that June will be full of new things – new books to read, new projects to stitch and new tv series to discover.
Don’t forget it’s National Gingerbread Day tomorrow!
Have a great week : )

June 7, 2023 at 9:10 amIt felt so strange for me to work this Monday as we’d had so many of them off over the last month. But it must have been nice to be able to do some more things with the kids and have some weekends away x
