Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.
Five Happy Things {Week 446}
Last week we were excited to go and watch our daughter take part in the District Cross Country competition. She trains every week and really enjoys running. The weather was cold and windy but she ran well, although unfortunately not quick enough to receive a medal.
Over the weekend we finally got round to visiting d20 Uxbridge, our local Board Game cafe. We booked a few hours and enjoyed trying The Isle of Cats (too difficult), London Underground Edition Monopoly and the Disney Trivia Game. We treated ourselves to amazing milkshakes whilst we played and spotted a few games we’d like to try on our next visit.
We also discovered a cute bubble tea cafe on the same street as the board game cafe – Teddy Bear Bubble Tea in Uxbridge. My son loves his bubble tea so we tried some new flavours and picked up some cute puppy shaped waffles too.
I finished crafting a sweet King’s Guard decoration to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III next weekend. I’ve also been hand quilting the mini quilt. I think I need to find a new project as I’m just not excited to pick it up at the moment. I have a few other craft kits so I might try working on something else for a while.
I shared a review of Mrs Porter Calling by AJ Pearce last week, and I’m still reading The Dress Diary of Mrs Anne Sykes: Secrets from a Victorian Woman’s Wardrobe. It’s a good book but very full of facts and history, so although it’s really interesting it’s not an easy read. I have a huge pile of books to read so I might have to start something a little easier to read.
Have a great week!

May 1, 2023 at 9:42 pmIt’s always refreshing to take a moment and focus on the positive things in life, especially during these challenging times. Your list of happy things was so uplifting and made me feel grateful for the simple pleasures in life. I also love the idea of keeping a gratitude journal – it’s something I’ve been meaning to start myself.
