I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. Half term has felt super busy as we started with a weekend at Centre Parcs Woburn, visited Bletchley Park, visited my mum in Wiltshire, spent a day at Chiltern Open Air Museum, went to the cinema, as well as another visit to the hospital to sort my son’s cast out. Looking back we’ve fitted in a lot, which is probably why my children found it difficult to sleep last night!
Five Happy Things {Week 243}
So our visit to Centre Parcs Woburn wasn’t brilliant as my son had an accident and broke his wrist in two places. We decided to carry on with our plan to visit Bletchley Park on the way home and I’m really glad we did. We all enjoyed exploring the Mansion, Huts and Blocks. There was so much to learn about but we all came away totally inspired by the history of the place.
Back at home for a few days and I had a trip to the cinema with my daughter to see the Secret Life of Pets 2. We loved the first film and the sequel didn’t disappoint. It was fabulously funny and we loved it. Afterwards we went for a cheeky Five Guys and a spot of shopping.
The weather has been really good over half term so we enjoyed some time at home. We were sent some fun craft kids which entertained the kids no end. We’ve been busy growing a Blue Crystal, hatching Sea Monkeys, crafting with Aquabeads and painting Fortnite Painted Rocks. We finally made time to visit the quirky Red Onion Cafe and stopped for late night ice cream at La Dolce Vita, both things we’ve wanted to do in Ruislip for months. My daughter also aced it at her monthly Kids Run Free Hillingdon meet.
To celebrate the release of Toy Story 4 next month ShopDisney sent us a bundle of Toy Story 4 toys which we’ve been having so much fun with. I can’t wait to tell you more about these soon but let’s just say that the Toy Story Alienizer has been a game changer! It’s been everywhere with us over half term and we’re had so much fun with it. If you speak into it it magically distorts your voice to sound like the aliens from Toy Story!
Yesterday we decided to visit Chiltern Open Air Museum. We only live 20 minutes away but have never managed to visit. Well we finally did and had a great day exploring their historic buildings. It was such a lovely day out and the weather was amazing. It was a really lovely way to end our half term adventures.
Have a great week.
