Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.
Five Happy Things {Week 454}
Last week felt busy with lots of end of term activities for my children. My daughter took part in the District Athletics competition and came home with a medal for throwing which she was very pleased with. Then on Friday she was awarded the Young Scout of the Year award at the annual awards evening!
I got my hair cut and had an interview for a new job. The interview went well and I have another interview lined up so hopefully I will get something soon. In the evenings I have been stitching some of the Liberty EPP I made into tumbler blocks. I stuck to red, white and black and the blocks look great together.
On Saturday we went to the Wings and Wheels RC Model Spectacular at North Weald Airfield. We’ve been a few times before but never had quite such hot weather. There was no shade to hide from the sun and we all found it too hot – lots of drinks and ice creams were consumed.
My latest book is the Night Train to Marrakech by Dinah Jefferies, the third book in the Daughters of War trilogy. I always enjoy reading her books and love the setting of Morocco.
We spent the afternoon hiding from the sunshine in the cinema, it was the coolest place we could think of. We watched Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which was an entertaining way to spend the afternoon.

June 28, 2023 at 9:01 pmHi there!
It sounds like you had a wonderful week full of exciting events and happy moments. Congratulations to your daughter for her achievements in the District Athletics competition and for receiving the Young Scout of the Year award! That’s truly something to be proud of.
Good luck with your job interviews! It’s great to hear that the first one went well, and I hope the upcoming interview brings even more positive news. Your stitching project with the Liberty EPP sounds lovely, and I’m sure the red, white, and black tumbler blocks will turn out beautifully.
Attending the Wings and Wheels RC Model Spectacular must have been thrilling, despite the hot weather. It’s always refreshing to indulge in cold drinks and ice creams on a hot day.
The Night Train to Marrakech by Dinah Jefferies sounds like an intriguing read, and it’s wonderful that you’re enjoying it. And spending the afternoon in the cinema, escaping the heat, while watching Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sounds like a fun and cool way to relax.
Thank you for sharing your joyful experiences with us. I hope the coming week brings even more happiness and exciting adventures for you and your family!
