We’re having a really crafty Summer and I’m very grateful that some lovely brands have sent us some craft products to try. Today I’m sharing the fun we had with a Creative Craft Set from Faber-Castell. They have created a wide selection of fantastic Playing & Learning products which allow children to explore their creativity through the world of colour.
Faber-Castell Creative Craft Set with Connector Pens
There are three different themed Creative Craft Sets – Jungle Adventure, Desert Adventure and Ocean Adventure. We received the Ocean Adventure set which contained 12 connector pens, 50 connector caps, 20 connector clips, 6 Artwork sheets and an instruction booklet.
The Faber-Castell colouring pens are really good quality and include a range of colours to complete the enclosed artwork sheets. You can follow the examples in the booklet using techniques such as squiggling, patterning and pointillism or colour your own way.
The only mention of these techniques is on the cover of the instruction booklet and I would have liked some more information on these techniques to share with my son.
We liked the visual instructions which were easy to follow. After my son finished colouring in his chosen pictures I helped him cut it out. The pens are simple to connect and make shapes from. We made the ship but the booklet includes instructions for a clown fish, stingray, ship, coconut tree and background.
We liked this kit which is designed to introduce different colouring techniques, develops fine motor skills and trains spatial awareness. The connector pens are a fun idea and add an extra dimension to creativity which both my children enjoyed. They’ve already made their own models from the pens and connector caps and clips so I think this is one set which will last for a long time.
Faber-Castell Creative Craft Sets are suggested for ages 6+ and priced at £7.99. You can purchase them from Stone and specialist art shops.
