I love my Cricut machine and have been using a lot for projects around our home. One thing I really wanted to do was update the storage jar labels on all my glass storage jars. We did our kitchen a few years ago and put our dry goods into glass jars. I’ve used sticky labels and even a label printer to make labels for each jar but recently I wanted to make labels in the same size and font for all of the glass jars. This is the type of project that the Cricut was made for and I really love how each it was to make my own Cricut storage jar labels.
Easy Cricut storage jar label equipment:
Cricut Maker
Cricut Black Vinyl
Cricut Transfer Tape
Cricut StandardGrip mat
Easy Cricut storage jar labels
Open Cricut Design Space and create a new project. Choose a font, I chose American Typewriter, and type in the labels. I made 13, ranging from caster sugar, to self raising flour, marshmallows to sultanas. I had a range of small, medium and large jars, so I re-sized the labels according to the size of the jar.
I chose a simple black vinyl and set up my Cricut machine with a StandardGrip mat.
I then set the Cricut machine to cut the text from vinyl.
Then I was able to weed the excess vinyl away, cut out each text label and place transfer tape over each one.
I lightly cleaned each jar where I wanted to place my label and pressed over the transfer tape with a scraper to make sure the vinyl would adhere to the each jar.
Then I was able to carefully remove the transfer tape to reveal the label.
It didn’t take long to place the label on each storage jar and soon I had a gorgeous matching collection of Cricut made storage jar labels.
