I have been thinking about different ways for my children to play with their toys and I thought of combining their favourite Star Wars toys with our tuff spot. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best and our Star Wars sensory bin has been recreated several times.
For our DIY Star Wars sensory bin for kids we used:
Selection of Star Wars toys
Tuff spot
Sand
Wooden stars

DIY Star Wars sensory bin for kids:
Our tuff spot gets a lot of use at this time of year. The last time the children played with this the sun was shining so we set up our tuff spot beneath the trees. We decided to fill it with sand to turn our tuff spot into Tatooine, a desert planet located in the galaxy’s Outer Rim Territories. My 6 year old is a walking, talking Star Wars dictionary so was very particular in trying to set up the landscape just as he wanted it. His younger sister tried to help.
They added their extensive Star Wars collection and started re-enacting battles and different scenes from their favourite films.

You can see the Millennium Falcon was brought out and added, even though it filled the tuff spot. The children had loads of fun and I enjoyed listening to their adventures. This was also a cost-free activity which was great as the summer holidays are proving quite expensive!

Wow, this is a fantastic idea! I’ve heard a lot about sensory bins and it’s definitely something I’d love to try with my own children when the time comes! As a big Star Wars I reckon my boyfriend would love this too!
I like this idea. My nephew is a Star Wars freak. He would love this activity.
