I really like this time of year as there is so much to look forward to celebrating. We will be celebrating Mother’s Day on Sunday 14th March this year. I love receiving the cards my children make at school (although I’m not sure that will be happening this year). We usually go out for lunch but hopefully my family will cook for me and let me put my feet up for the day! I couldn’t resist making something with my Cricut Maker for Mothers Day. My Cricut DIY Mother’s Day gift idea is simple and low cost but makes a lovely addition to the home.

I opened Cricut Design Space, imported my Mother’s Day svg which featured the word Mama inside a hexagon with flowers. I created a new project and inserted the image, resizing it to fit my glass block. When I was happy with the sizing I welded the image and set it to cut on a gorgeous teal vinyl.
I cut the image from teal vinyl.
I started to weed the excess vinyl away and applied transfer tape to help move the designs to the glass block.
I cleaned the surface of the glass, removed the paper backing from the transfer tape and carefully my vinyl to the glass block. Then I peeled away the clear plastic layer and smoothed down the design with my fingers.
I like the simplicity of the Mother’s Day design and the colour teal is always just gorgeous. I bought a pack of micro lights to go inside the glass block and it really helps the vinyl stand out when the lights are on.
I expect that Mother’s Day this year will be very quiet, another event which I don’t get to see my own mum on. I have some yummy chocs and cards to send and will enjoy my handmade Cricut made Mother’s Day gift with my own children this year.
