Monday Happy List {Week 333}

Posted on March 1, 2021 by jenny

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy List {Week 333}

We are all excited about the thought of both our children finally being back at school from next Monday. The news has definitely helped us get through the last few weeks. Of course we needed to try and find all the school uniform, which didn’t fit, so I had to order new school trousers and jumpers. Everything is labelled and ready to go. The children are finally allowed to take their own pencil cases too so we had a trip to the high street to replenish the glue sticks and colouring pencils. Sports clubs are allowed to start up again too so I have booked all the clubs my children want to do, life is about to get busy again!

end of home learning

Today is National Offer Day and I am so excited about confirming my son’s Secondary school place. I have been hitting the refresh button all morning but nothing yet.

Last week was pretty quiet for us.  We tried making our own jaffa cakes which weren’t very successful. The chocolate we melted was too hot and slid right off the jelly! They still tasted good though.  We also spent a lot of time in the garden planting vegetable seeds.

We crafted a lot last week. I dusted my Cricut off to make a fun Mother’s Day gift (for myself as I won’t be seeing my mum this Mother’s Day) and also did lots more English Paper Piecing. The Handmade Florist 2021 Makealong started and I’m looking forward to making my first flower this week.

JAck's Mill Harefield

The weather over the weekend was amazing, unseasonally warm so we went for a walk by the Grand Union Canal to Jack’s Mill in Harefield. There was quite a queue for their delicious drinks and snacks so we didn’t wait around but it was so lovely to be out in the fresh air.

Have a great week!

    Have to say those Jaffa Cakes still look very good and I would certainly have one… or two! Good luck for National Offer Day! We were already sorted by this point last year thankfully, but totally know how you will be feeling! Sim

    I really hope you get the school of choice! I remember that wait so well.

    I’d eat those Jaffa cakes, but for now I need to go and (panic) check the school uniform situation! QUICK! Wish me luck x x

    We have also had a couple of days of lovely weather but I have to admit that I have yet to start on my gardening yet. The Jaffa Cake does look yummy….as they say it is all in the taste.
